This article will show you some Stripe product features that aren't visible in the Memberstack UI, but will work if you configure them directly in Stripe.
Product Images
In this video, I'll guide you through the process of adding an image to your products in Stripe. The same process applies for the other sections below.
Start on the Stripe Products page, select your product, and click Edit.
If you edit a Live Mode product in Stripe, it WILL NOT effect test mode, and vice versa.
Product Tax Category
This will be used for calculating automatic tax. Defaults to the default product tax category from your tax settings.
Start on the Stripe Products page, select your product, and click Edit.
If you edit a Live Mode product in Stripe, it WILL NOT effect test mode, and vice versa.
Statement Descriptor
Adding a statement descriptor will override your account descriptor for payments made through subscriptions. If you add a statement descriptor, choose something your customers will recognize on a bank statement.
Start on the Stripe Products page, select your product, and click Edit.
If you edit a Live Mode product in Stripe, it WILL NOT effect test mode, and vice versa.
Unit Labels
Adding a unit label describes how you sell your product. For example, if you charge by the seat and use “seat” as the unit label, it will be included in the line item as the price per seat. Unit labels for packaged prices should be pluralized, e.g. “seats.” Unit labels appear in customers’ receipts, invoices, Checkout, and the customer portal.
Start on the Stripe Products page, select your product, and click Edit.
If you edit a Live Mode product in Stripe, it WILL NOT effect test mode, and vice versa.
Other
The following features are available in the Stripe UI, but are not supported when using Memberstack at this time.
- Feature List
- Metered Billing
- Price Description
Trouble Shooting
If you edit a live mode product in Stripe, it WILL NOT effect the test mode version, and vice versa. When you make edits in Memberstack we automatically update both versions.

Hi! Do you have any solution for metered billing?
Nicolas DE MONTE we do not, no. It's something we might get into in the future. TBD.
