The clipboard is empty

As of Dec 2025, Webflow copy and paste only works reliably in Google Chrome. 

You may get a The clipboard is empty error when attempting to paste a component into Webflow. This is usually caused by using an unsupported browser, but can also be caused by trying to copy from a project you don't own, or using two different browsers at the same time.   

If this happens to you, I recommend cloning the project in Webflow and then copy and pasting between projects instead. This should solve most issues.
