How to set up Facebook and Google authentication in MemberStack with current Facebook dashboard steps?

Hello everyone,

I want to put facebook authentication on a platform for my client.

I found this https://docs.memberstack.com/hc/en-us/articles/9116286679195-Facebook-Authentication#h_01JSPEAYB0A525QMQZWY41VNF3 but it seems a little outdated. I can't find step 4 for example in my own facebook dashboard. Could someone help me with this? And also, does the website have to be finished before requesting facebook authentication?

    Hey Daniel Mohammadi,

I don't have a FB developer account so I was not able to test this out personally but I came across this video tutorial for the setup (not sure if it helps / updated as per the new FB portal experience) but linking it here anyway to see if visually seeing the dashboard sparks up some ideas of where those settings could be in your account.

And regarding the website completion status I doubt that will affect anything to do with FB auth setup. I believe you can setup the auth and then proceed to complete the website content, styling, customization etc.

Let me know if it helps, if not you could share some screenshot / recording of what you do see in the settings / dashboard where you want to implement the steps mentioned in the guide etc.

    I'll have a look, thanks!

For now I left the facebook login a little, because we have some other priorities for the website.

Although I have one more question regarding third party sign ins.

We also have Google authentication, but is it possible to pull first and last name, and connect them to custom fields in memberstack?

    Hey Daniel Mohammadi,

Yes if you have first-name and last-name custom fields setup in Memberstack, when a user signs up via Google Auth - Memberstack will auto-fetch the name from their account and save it in those Memberstack's custom fields which you can further use in your site as usual.

I tested this out and it works on my end too.

    Hope this helps.
