How to safely disconnect Memberstack from Stripe after migrating members? Answered
Hey team,
We're going through some changes and are testing a new system without Memberstack ๐
There's a chance we'll be back so what's the best approach here? Can I pause/cancel our plan and restart it at some point in the future?
I already have a CSV of all members downloaded.

Hey Mo Asgari,
You can cancel a subscription and if you want to reactivate a subscription, you can go to billing and select a paid plan to do so. Here are a couple of things you might need to check before cancelling the subscription to Memberstack.
I also found this thread where some points listed by Chukwudi might be of help for your project.
That being said, feel free to share your feedback here about Memberstack and the reason for migrating to a new system, it will help the Memberstack team to see if there are any aspects where they can improve for their users.
Hope this helps.
A J appreciate your help!
Quick question before I cancel our Memberstack account:
Weโve fully migrated off Memberstack. All members have been exported and are now managed in Airtable, which powers auth in our new custom app. We're no longer using Memberstack for logins, subscriptions, or billing logic.
That said, all paying members still show as "Active" in Memberstack, and those plans were originally created via the Stripe integration.
Can you confirm that if I cancel my Memberstack subscription, all existing Stripe subscriptions will continue billing as normal? Just want to be 100% certain thereโs no dependency before shutting it down.
Appreciate the help!
Hey Mo Asgari,
Chukwudi has mentioned what can be affected once you cancel the subscription in the thread I had linked earlier.
I will explain in brief what I incur from it as well.
Canceling your Memberstack subscription wouldn't affect your customers in Stripe, it can only affect your customers in the following ways:
Since you are no longer using Memberstack for login, signup etc. it should not be an issue.
This applies if your site is using Memberstack as source of truth and for gating content based on the paid plan etc.
Unless you update an individual member such that some Plan logic is triggered to cancel the subscription, I would say you are good to go if you are just cancelling the Memberstack subscription
Assuming you have all the information you need in Airtable, this should not be an issue either.
cc: Chukwudi kindly correct me or add on points that might be important to note.
thank you so much for the quick response guys!
