How to reduce subscription plan prices for both existing members and new subscribers? Answered

hey peeps, quick question. I have some members on a subscription plan atm. I'd like to reduce the price of the plan for existing members + new subscribers. What's the best way to go about doing this?

    Hi Alex,

    Unfortunately, it is not possible to directly update the pricing. The best way to go about it is to set up a coupon.

    Chukwudi Would that be setting up a 'forever' coupon for existing members and then setting up a new price for new members?

    You're right! 🙂

    You may not even need to set up a new price for new members. As long as you've applied the coupon to that subscription, it applies to both existing and new members.

    Hi Alex, I don't know if this info might help you but I had to make the change of the price for our customers on an active plan and here is the way to do it. We have a small number of subscribers so it was possible for us to do it manually.  

    Here are the steps:

    1. Go to the Subscriptions page on your Stripe dashboard and click the specific subscription you want to update.
    2. Take note of the renewal date of the subscription.
    3. Click the Actions button at the top right, then click Update subscription.
    4. Scroll down and look for the +Add Phase button, and click it.
    5. Set the Start date for the duration to the same date as the renewal date of the subscription, then set the End date to Forever.
    6. Remove the product with the 10.00 EUR price by clicking the three dots (...) at the right side of the product, then click Remove product.
    7. Click Add product, then add the product with the 12.00 EUR price.
    8. Make sure that the Proration behavior toggle is OFF.
    9. Click Save.
    10. Click Update subscription.
