How to automatically create Memberstack users from GoHighLevel with existing Stripe subscriptions? Answered
Hey everybody - a niche question here: is it possible to push a new GoHighLevel user’s info + stripe subscription to create a new Memberstack user through Make/Zapier? They’re both connected to the same stripe account, so the stripe IDs would be the same. Has this been attempted by anyone else in the community? If so a forwarding to the thread / link would be great ! 👍

Just keep in mind, paid plans cannot be assigned automatically. To obtain a paid plan, the user must go to checkout using Stripe's official integration OR by doing a manual import via dashboard of an existing member with paid subscription.
Yes! They’d go through stripes official integration through GHL. 👍 would Memberstack recognize an imported plan?
i mean stripe official integration from Memberstack 😅 for a user to obtain a paid plan in MS, he must use the stripe checkout from MS
So is adding a user with an existing subscription from the same stripe account not possible?
Not possible via automation of process, like using Make/Zapier or API. You can importing them manually via dashboard
Paid plans cannot be assigned via API, Make or Zapier. Only free plans can be assigned that way.
Exactly the case. I understand your idea. But for Memberstack that subscription doesn't exist. Stripe only handles payments, so the only way for Memberstack to know that the subscription already exists in your Stripe account would be for you to import the user manually (with the paid subscription) into your Memberstack dashboard.
I'm not sure what's your end goal, maybe there can be a workaround. But architecturally how you're planting the scenario it's not possible to automate via API. You seem that you want to have two users in two different systems.
Ah got it.
It would have been two users in two systems with the same subscription. I think the easiest thing would be to assign a free plan alongside making the new user in Memberstack. (GHL plan + free MS plan for access)
In the MS app, we have upselling buttons to go on higher tiered plan so I’ll just update those to ms-price-update.
For those you’ve seen in similar boats as me- would you say that’s a solid path?
I don't have the whole context of your app, but yes, that solution might work. Just keep in mind how you're going to handle the billing section of you're users since their payment is not handled in Memberstack
Will do - thank you a ton for working this out with me!
