How to implement customer opt-in checkboxes with custom data-ms-member="gdpr" attributes?

I'm trying to make a custom field for a checkbox, but it's not working with the custom attribute "data-ms-member="gdpr"

Am I missing something? How can I let customers opt-in to certain things with a checkbox at sign up?

Ok, well I figured this out like 2 seconds later, but want to keep it up for others to learn. Don't apply the custom attribute to the checkbox field. Apply it to the checkbox itself. Duh! Works perfectly.
