Does Memberstack incur Stripe Billing fees on top of regular payment processing fees?

I'm looking to hear from an actual Memberstack user on what fees they are paying in Stripe. I tried asking Memberstack support, but just keep hearing back "Memberstack recurring payments do not circumvent Stripes fees."

I understand that Memberstack charges a per-transaction fee on top of the regular payment processing fees that Stripe charges (e.g. 2.9% + $0.30 for a credit card transaction in the US).

What I am specifically asking about is the Stripe Billing product and whether using Memberstack ends up costing an additional 0.7% on all billing volume in Stripe.

I previously worked for a SaaS company that facilitated recurring payments for users in Stripe, and our product did not incur this extra charge. But I am seeing a few conflicting things online and want to confirm since I'm evaluating Memberstack for a non-profit client - I need to be aware of all the fees.

Are you seeing Stripe Billing charges from Memberstack transactions? Is it only on recurring payments?

Which scenario is correct (on the Memberstack Business plan)?

Memberstack 0.9% + Stripe Payments 2.9% + $0.30 + Stripe Billing 0.7%

Hey Sam, cofounder of Memberstack here. I can confirm that this is accurate:

Memberstack 0.9% + Stripe Payments 2.9% + $0.30 + Stripe Billing 0.7%

Memberstack relies on Stripe billing to handle a lot. We also pay for it as a company and find it's worth the cost.

Hi Duncan,

Thanks for the response. I did get a similar response on my email support ticket as well.

Ultimately, the client I've been scoping for is willing to take on the cost and also sees the benefit, but I wasn't able to find any info on this anywhere in the docs and I'm disappointed I wasn't able to surface this earlier for them. It would be great to disclose this info transparently.
