How to import thousands of free users into MemberStack without generating member IDs? Answered
Hi there - very new to Memberstack. I need to import a couple thousand free users onto my platform. I am a bit confused by the member ID... am I supposed to generate member IDs for my users, or can I leave that blank? It says that Member ID is recommended, but I don't understand how that's supposed to be created by me.

Hey Ferdinand Chan,
If you are importing users from some other platform to Memberstack, you can safely leave that blank. Memberstack will generate member IDs for all those members.
It is recommended to have the Member ID field if you are importing users from one app to another app in Memberstack or basically when the users were exported from Memberstack and you want to import them back in Memberstack.
In your case, it is best to leave it empty and let Memberstack create unique member IDs for the users.
