How do I know when to choose Memberstack over Webflow's native user account functionality? Answered
Hi, I'm looking at user account functionality for the first time - as one of my first customers wants this functionality!
I use Webflow.
When I ask my customer what he wants his users to be able to do / what functionality he wants the 'user portal' to have, I want to just know which of the two options is more suitable.
Can someone tell me, functionality wise, where Webflow user accounts stops being satisfactory, and Member stack starts being more suitable?
I trying to compare them currently by the pricing / plans pages, and asking AI for comparisons, but I'm unable to get this specific answer, and I only have time to get to know one of the two intimately right now.
Pretty please! :)

Hey Shan O'Brien, Webflow user accounts will be sunsetted as per Webflow's announcement, meaning we can't enable user accounts on new site currently and existing webflow user accounts will not be available to use from Jan 29, 2026.
So, its safe to say if you want to get started with member accounts, you can dive in to Memberstack and reach out in this channel with any questions for the project setup.
That is super helpful, thank you!
I think I will just write the cost with Memberstack in mind - it seems to be the only amazing option for Webflow that I can see
Member stack is scalable, so I will offer them the first plan, and tell them that they can scale up when they need to simply by changing their plan.
If I make them do the payment directly (not through me) then they don't need my labour when they suddenly need to accommodate more users - and can just upgrade their plan?
Yes Shan O'Brien, your client can upgrade the plan to accommodate more members accordingly. Here's something more about how it works:
perfect, thank you so much AJ!
