How to create social media style unique usernames with email confirmation before registration in Memberstack? Answered

Hello,
I would like to ask you if you can create two functions on memberstack. They are very important features that I would like to implement on my website. The first one is that when users register, they enter their username, which will be registered as unique and no other user will be able to take it, just like on social networks. This is an important feature, users take their username as their brand and if this feature is not there, someone can take the same username and impersonate another user in the comments.

The second feature is email verification before creating an account. Is it possible for a user to enter an email and have an account created after email verification? If a user registers under someone else's email and can post comments under it, it is very annoying. Simply put, I would like to have only users on my site who authenticate their email and for those users to have their own unique username.

Thank you, Sincerely, R. Č.

    Hi Radek,

Thank you for sharing your use case.

For the first feature, t’s already on our wishlist here, I recommend you upvote it or leave a comment to stay updated on the progress. There's also a similar post as yours and you may want to check out the conversation in this thread

As for the second feature, email verification is already available. You can find a detailed guide on how to set it up in this article

Do not hesitate to reach out if you need help with anything.

Email verification is available, but only after member registration, which is too late. I would need to prevent the account from being created until the member verifies it with a code that arrives in the email. (Member registers - system sends code - member backs in code in field - registration passes or fails.)

The way it works at the moment is that a member can register under someone else's email, and that doesn't seem right to me, if a member uses someone else's email, registers under it without authenticating, then the legitimate owner of the email can't use it because it's blocked.

Anyone can register on my site even under my personal email and then I will not register. I think this is even a security flaw.

    Thank you, Sincerely R. Č.
