[Wishlist] Preventing account lockouts when users change email addresses in Memberstack
The Problem
When a user updates their email address in the account settings, the change takes effect immediately. If they accidentally enter the wrong email address, they will not receive the verification email and will be unable to log back into their account.
Why It’s Important
This creates a poor user experience and could lead to account lockouts. It also increases support requests since staff must manually step in to fix the user’s email. Having a verification step would improve security, reduce errors, and prevent accidental lockouts.
What Have You Tried?
Currently, there is no verification process built in. The only workaround is to manually contact support to update the account email, which is time-consuming and not scalable.
Suggested Solutions

Require users to verify their new email before applying the change.

Keep the old email active until the new one is verified.
