Save/Unsave CMS items - Show empty state Answered

Hi Memberstack, I have setup the Save/Unsave CMS items and it's works like a charm, but if people don't have any items saved, there is just a blank area. Is it possible to show the Empty State somehow in Webflow?

    Hi Nicklas,

Here's Rey's response which would help get this done for you:

Solution: Use Webflow’s Built-in Empty State for Collections

    1. Go to Your Collection List

      • In Webflow Designer, select the Collection List that displays saved items.
    2. Enable the "Empty State" Element

      • Inside the Collection List Wrapper, you’ll see an Empty State element (hidden by default).
      • Click on it, and add a message like: "No items saved yet! Start saving your favorite items."
      • You can also add an image, button, or call-to-action.
    3. Ensure the Empty State Appears Dynamically

      • Webflow automatically shows this Empty State when the Collection List is empty.
      • Test by ensuring no saved items exist and previewing the page.

Alternative: Use Conditional Visibility (If Using Memberstack)

If you're manually filtering saved items via Memberstack attributes, you might need a custom workaround:

    1. Add a Div Block for the Empty State
      • Place it below the Collection List and style it as you like.
    2. Set Conditional Visibility
      • Select the Collection List and set it to only show if saved items exist.
      • Set the Empty State div to only show if there are no saved items.

This ensures a smooth user experience where an empty state message appears when no items are saved.
