How to track user referrals from my website without disrupting the production domain? Answered
Hi guys. I'm looking to build a website featuring other companies. They need to be able to check how many users have come from my website. I know I can simply use utm parameters and they'd be able to see it with any Analytics software, but just wondering if it can be done better than that. And possibly have a graph or something on the dashboard.

Marko Guzvic You want them to have dashboard on your own website to see the number of referral you made?
By convention, you can send them the utm parameters so the featured companies can do their own analytics using their own tooling.
However, if you want to provide a different solution, like offering a base set of analytics but owned by you, you can track your own clicks by setting up a click counter on your site.
You'll have the clicked data stored somewhere, like Webflow collection or a database, and every time a company button gets a click, it should send a +1 to the stored data for the particular company.
Displaying that data will rely up to you. As long as you have the data safe and accessible you can could create an admin and give each company a user, use Looker Studio to set up a general dashboard, or maybe send the raw data to the companies so they can connect it with their analytics... there could be many solutions applied to it
You can even set your Google Analytics account to track that data (as click count event, not as reference) and send each of the companies a report
