Re-adding deleted members

Hey everyone, I have a member in Stripe with a paid subscription attached, however they were accidentally deleted from Memberstack. Is the best way to re-add them to use the "Import members" function?

I tried adding them and syncing with Stripe, but this created a new customer in Stripe every time, losing all their existing Stripe data

    Hi James,

Did you check the import paid members guide? You will need to import the Stripe Customer Id and the Stripe Subscription Id for that particular user in the csv

I tested that with two members, i deleted them on memberstack, imported them again with email, customer_id and sub_id. It successfully linked with Customer_ID but not with the Subscription ID and I have no idea why.

The product was created with Memberstack. I even tried to import the product from Stripe back to memberstack but it gave me an error saying the product was already there, so I am not sure why it is not working.

Thanks Raquel Lopez, haven't tried yet, that was my main question, as the demo Looms showed doing this with an empty customer list only, and I wanted to make sure doing so wouldn't overwrite my existing customer base or anything, and would just add instead. I'll give it a try then! 🤞

James Daly You need to import only the member you deleted. Batch importing users doesnt update them, it creates them (in this case would duplicate them)

Thanks Raquel. Unfortunately this didn't work – I get an error at the Submit stage telling me the subscription ID field is invalid, even though it's matched to my Stripe export :man-🤷‍♂ī¸

Unfortunately I'll just have to ask the user to create a new account and give them a coupon code ☚ī¸

    Thanks anyway for your help!
