How can I build a subscriber-only community with Slack integration and automate form submissions to Slack with email responses?

Hi Friends, - I have a client that want to get form submissions to Slack, and then answer to that message in Slack and it will be sent to the end user by email.

Anyone know if this is possible? I was thinking about using Make.com or similar but it looks like Slack bots more or less is one-way or triggered on messages with no context.

Hey Simon Adrell, I believe this should be possible via make with a workaround. Currently make might not have webhooks to listen to the new replies on slack.

But you could connect the form submission to be posted in the slack channel that you specify and you could have some button in that message which triggers a reply submission form (sort of), which could in turn trigger a workflow which takes the answer and sends it as an email to the user.

Check Slack Block Kit Builder to brainstorm how to make the slack message interactive, in order to trigger part 2 of your use-case, i.e. send email replies to the user.

    Hope this helps.

Hello! Does memberstack have templates for subscriber-only communities? Eg enabling users to subscribe and then gain access to a Slack community like this or another group?

    Hey Daniel and happy Friday!

As a person who was developing a good chunk of templates, I can’t say I’ve done that, nor stumbled upon one, however, it is possible to give access through email by using the newsletter premium template 🤔

I’m guessing you already thought about doing things this way, and it’s not what you are looking to do, correct?

Hey Daniel Pearson, I doubt if there is a ready-made template that you can use to integrate with slack groups.

But with the gating content and membership features that Memberstack offers, I believe you can get started with the use-case of having users subscribe to a plan and getting access to pages / content that you only want to show for the subscribers, and you could create a flow in Make / Zapier, to invite such subscribers to Slack groups which will make this process swift and automatic on your end. And you could also make sure that once their subscription ends, you could trigger a flow which automatically removes them from such slack groups. Hope this gives you a rough idea.

Let us know if you are looking for something more specific.
