Make to clear cms item fields Answered
Please has anyone successfully used Make/Integromat to clear cms item fields?
I have a form that updates the webflow CMS based on the submitted inputs, and refreshes the page with the updated cms.
It works well if the input text is replaced with other text, however if the text is cleared and the field becomes empty it doesn't work fully. The field is cleared in the webflow designer and the item is published, but when the page is refreshed, it still shows the old input.
Publishing the whole site for the field to show as cleared is causes rate limit issues. Does anyone know a workaround please?

Hey Heather B, I can face similar issue when I test from my end too. Definitely webflow shouldn't be ignoring empty values, but it seems like it does so and doesn't show it on front-end instantaneously without publishing the entire site.
A possible workaround is to pass "space" variable or a hyphen instead of "erase", and webflow seems to consider such updates and show the updated one. This is a workaround, only if you don't mind having a space or hyphen in the description (i.e. if you don't use conditional visibility on this particular Description field).
Thanks for getting back to me! Unfortunately some of the fields are URLs so if I did a space it would come back with an error, not sure what the best approach is
Ahh, that's true. A possible workaround is to let users not delete the link fields but have an option to hide them alternatively, with which you can hide / show the link fields based on the selected option. But again, not sure if this workaround fits your collection use-case.
What is the use-case of this collection here? Like what is this collection made of and how are users going to interact with? Probably it could give us some more ideas as to how to handle this limitation.
okay thanks AJ
