Having public profiles of users with Phone verification Answered
Hi Everyone 👋 — We have an upcoming project and considering using Memberstack but curious if it can support these use cases ⬇️
1️⃣ — We want users to "verify" with a US or Canadian mobile phone number. Ideally when user signs up, it'd ask for email & mobile number and they'd receive a text with a code (or link) that would then update their memberstack profile as "verified".
2️⃣ — When a user signs up and verifies their account, they can then fill out an application (we're still deciding if applications are auto-approved or have a review process), and after an approved application occurs, a public profile is created for that users. Is there a way to have more than 10,000 public profiles of a users that completed the application process? How is/would that be supported?
Any advice or guidance here is really appreciated 🙇

Hey Jonathan!
Out of the box, memberstack does not support these things - that being said, I believe there are some additional solutions you could use in tandem with memberstack for the phone verification, and for the second one, using something like xano and a reverse proxy setup would allow you to have as many public profiles as you’d like.
Thanks Julian Galluzzo — regarding number two. I thought I saw something on your feature set that talked about more than 10k user profiles. Is that just user accounts and not “public facing” ones.
Regarding the text message verification, could I set up a custom field on user sign up that asked for phone number as well as email and then use Zapier to send a text message that would take them to a unique link. Once that link is hit, does memberStack have the ability to update the memberStack profile custom field verified to true?
Or is there a more out of the box solution for the phone number verification that you can point me to?
Correct - you can have millions of members with memberstack, but public profiles would be limited to whatever you use to generate them.
I cant think of a more out of the box solution - but, that does sound like a perfect solution! You would probably need some custom code to update the custom field when they go on that page, i bet our ai chatbot could whip up that code easy! https://rey.memberstack.com/
