How to customize invoice numbering and automatically create Stripe customers from Memberstack sign-ups?

Hi, I know that some other tools that use the Stripe for payments enable customization of invoice numbering format. Stripe support says it's possible via API. How can I access the API if I'm using Stripe connected with memberstack or maybe can you as the memberstack staff enable us to choose the invoice numbering format that would be used in Stripe?

Hey A.G. I'm not aware of anyway to modify or set the Invoice number using Memberstack.

Can you share a bit more about why this feature is important for you?

Well, it's useful for accounting purposes. It's easier if you can tell the month and the day when an invoice was issued just looking at its individual number. In my country it's quite usual to number the invoices according to the scheme "year/ month/number" plus prefixes.

I have a question about Memberstack and Stripe. I connected my Stripe account to Memberstack. I don't see a new customer generated in Stripe when someone signs up on the website using the Memberstack sign up form. The goal is to create invoices in Stripe and display them on the website to the memberstack user when they are signed in. Do I have to create a customer manually in stripe that matches the member in memberstack?

Memberstack integration by default would create the customer in Stripe if the user converts to be a paying customer. Free plans are not integrated with Stripe. Invoices are created after payment.

You could create an integration with Make to create a new customer in Stripe whenever someone signs up. However I'm not so sure it will activate the Customer Billing Portal to those users that haven't yet paid  You would have to test it to see if it would fit your use case.

Or maybe @Duncan Hamra could confirm

Thanks - I'll test with Zapier or Make

Hmmm yeah, I'm not quite sure how this would work. You'd need to associate the two, but I'm not sure how that works. under the good. I see a membership ID, but that is only created when a plan is created 🤔
