How to implement one-time fees on a Webflow job portal using Memberstack while avoiding layered transaction fees from Webflow, Memberstack, and Stripe? Answered

Hi  -  I am planning on building a jobs portal where members will not be charged sign up fees,. Nor would we be charging a monthly subscription fee. Instead employers will either a) pay for a project after they have chosen a candidate b) Hire a candidate and which they will pay us for a recruiting fee. Both of these are "once off fees"  For either of these scenarios would memberstack charge us a transaction fee?

Also I could not find a public contact email for memberstack and I actually had to sign up to lodge this query - does a public contact exist as having to go through the process of signing up just to ask a question was frustrating.

thanks, Joe

    Hey Joe 👋

Memberstack charges transaction fees on all recurring and one-time purchases unless you are on the Established plan or the Agency plan

Since you are only collecting payment AFTER they have interacted with your site, I recommend charging the fee directly in Stripe. Using Memberstack for payments is most valuable when your product is self serve and folks are paying in advance to get access to your product/service.

And I know what you mean about the signing up to ask a question. We've tried adding public contact information in the past but we wasted so much time deleting spam and fielding questions from folks who never became customers that we decided to require signup. That said, no payment is required and you can delete you account anytime. Thanks for the feedback and for taking the time to create an account. Hopefully this answers your Q. If not, feel free to follow up and I'll reply ASAP.

Hi all, new here - quick question for the group: if I'm using webflow basic e-commerce + memberstack basic, am I subject to the memberstack 4% fee ON TOP OF the 2% webflow transaction fee ON TOP OF the stripe fee? or does Memberstack take the place of webflow in this context?

Memberstack should charge you only for the usage of Memberstack. So if the transaction was made using the Stripe integration from Memberstack you will only pay Memberstack that percent (and the following monthly transactions)

If you use Webflow to charge to a user then you pay to Webflow for that transaction. Both are individual systems and have their own individual policies. You can use either one or both if you prefer.
