How to transition from Webflow's V1 to V2 API in Make while ensuring the Publish Item module works properly? Answered

How is Webflow’s V2 API working now? I know some people here and generally had issues with the new Publish Item module via Make. Is that working as expected yet? Also, are you able to continue using V1 API while you test V2 in Make, or is it a point of no return?

Yea V2 is back in working order, the only really difference now is the missing “live” Boolean for CMS API calls (like update or create etc).

V1 works fine, but will depreciate within 1 year.

One thing to note is, V1 also had stability issues around the same time V2 did (1 api Call would take 17s at its peak for me, like for example creating a CMS item), that has since been fixed, but indicates to me that they’re actively touching/adjusting the V1 api, so what is stable today, May not be stable tomorrow.

That said, I’m using a hybrid of V2 and V1 Webflow API’s on all my scenarios, basically if I want to create or update a CMS item I stick to V1 cuz it’s cheaper

Does anyone know about webflows new v2 api and how/if it will affect existing make.com scenarios?

I was wondering if anyone knows how to update to the new API or if make does it on their side or how it works. Theyve done this before but not sure how it works.

Has Webflow removed support for the legacy api? If not, you can slowly migrate any legacy version api to the v2. But until Webflow formally removes support for the legacy api your scenarios should keep working as usual.

If you have active workflows, you might have to clone the existing workflows and replace the legacy modules to the new Webflow modules that Make provides and make the switch so that operations are not hampered in between such migration. It's indeed a process, but currently I believe we have to do that to ensure we stay on the updated Webflow v2 side of things.

Yes thats what I thought but its not clear if Make has updated its webflow modules to work with the v2 api or if they will before 2025. Im not sure how to migrate from the v1 to v2 - is it the same module, theres only one module in make?

You should create a support ticket with Make to obtain an official answer of what version of the API are they using in their modules. If you are using HTTP modules to hit Webflow API, then it's up to you to manually switch the version, but if they are providing the module, it should be their responsibility to update it and/or inform you of any required action you should take
