Facebook Auth Requires Business Verification? Answered

Hey all,

I was trying to setup FB social login and ran into a wall when the FB developers console required I have a verified business (with documents and everything) to request access to user email data.

Any way around this? It seems like you can't use social auth unless you have an established/documented business to request the proper permissions.

Not that I'm aware of 🤔 Are you able to obtain that business information? What exactly are they asking for?

Nope. I don't have a business set up as I am just starting out with development. This is their process :https://www.facebook.com/business/help/2058515294227817?id=180505742745347

They accept the following forms of business verification:

    • Certificate/Articles of Incorporation
    • Business Registration or License Document
    • Government Issued Business Tax Document: This could include a Tax Certificate. Self-filed tax documents are not accepted.
    • Business Bank Statement
    • Utility Bill: A utility bill is accepted only for Business Address and Phone number. The Legal Business Name must be on the utility bill. A utility bill is not an acceptable document for Legal Business Name verification

Looks like I can't use Facebook auth until I set my business up.

Ahh darn... makes sense. The simple now solution here is probably to delay activating FB login until you've been able to establish the business. Well, that's what I would do.

That's the plan! No big deal in my case. Something to add down the road.
