Error with adding members to the few ‘paid plans Answered
Question here…
I wonder if you could help me, please?
We have a very last minute opportunity to utilise memberstack with an existing client, however I need to show the basic flow tomorrow and my 2x devs are currently on holiday, therefore I’m showing up how rusty I am 😆 - Would appreciate any insight anyone can share.
I’ve set up an instance, cloned a Webflow template and added a few ‘paid plans’ and then whilst attempting to add ‘Members’ the ‘Plans’ don’t show up in the drop down:
Any ideas why this is happening?
Also, I followed the clone template instructions - https://docs.memberstack.com/hc/en-us/articles/8463428799131
This is working well and I’ve been able to log in with the test user created, however, for some reason, I’m not able to add a plan…

you cant add a paid plan to a member through your memberstack dashboard, you have to add the plan through the stripe checkout portal. I think this has to do with the stripe payment processing (though thats just a guess)
For test mode, stripe has a test card that you can use for checkouts (If I recall correctly they dont accept real card information). The card info is 4242 spammed on all fields except the name and address.
You can’t add PAID plans to members through the MS dashboard. You can only add free plans (and you don’t have any free plans). To add a paid plan to a member you might be able to do it through Stripe (I haven’t done this), or just set up a 100% discount coupon in Stripe and go through the purchase process with your demo member.
Or do a test purchase with a test credit card number if you’re in test mode 😅
Apt! 🎯👏 Al Mazlin Thanks for stepping in.
Thank you so much for taking the time to respond Al Mazlin.
Looking for guidance then, does this mean that the following scenario is impossible?
Client A engages with various customers and a number of whom type 1) will pay outright (CAPEX), usually via bank transfer [can descope this] type 2) Some wish to purchase same day, but as they are low income companies, do not have free cashflow and have to save/fundraise.
Client A wishes to send a sign up link to Customer type 2 in order that they can:
a) Pass to the authorised signatory/financial controller
b) signatory/controller can then sign up and choose stipulated plan
c) make payment in same session
Hi James 👋 you can enable multiple payment methods via Memberstack and Stripe checkout.
It sounds like you could enable ACH, card payments in Stripe and subscription options via Memberstack.
I’ll get you the help desk article when I get to my computer today
Thanks Duncan from Memberstack!
The only sloight difference to this may be that we are based in the UK and so the open banking version on ACH is Direct Pay or Equivalent
