Unsubscribing cancelled members from mailing lists Planned
Newbie Make.com question (trying to make the switch from Zapier): How are you all unsubscribing cancelled members from your mailing lists? My Zapier zap was watching for cancelled subscriptions, but now I’ve also got:
- One-time memberships which are auto-expiring (i.e., being removed from the member when expired, I assume)
- Multiple memberships — so one membership might be removed, while others remain. I wouldn’t want to unsubscribe someone while they still have access to something.
Is there a catch-all I could use to find someone who suddenly has no plans of any kind whatsoever?

Happy Monday! Interesting question… will need to give it more thought since I’m not coming up with a simple solution.
Are the emails part of your paid service? If not, the simple now solution (in my opinion) would be to let them opt out separately. If yes… then we’ll need to work out a clever solution. I’m confident there are a few ways to do it, but I’m less confident I know which will be the easiest to implement and maintain 🤔
There’s no serious harm in cancelled members getting the emails. It’s just a bit annoying and confusing for them, and feels untidy to me 😁. There’s more harm in removing an active member from the mailing list. So yeah… I reckon the simple solution is gonna be best for now. Thanks Duncan!
Al Mazlin I use Stripe to handle this (via Make), watching for a customer.subscription.deleted deleted event, which then looks up the customer in an Airtable table and then takes different actions.
