How to create a seamless flow for logged-out members to upgrade to a paid plan after logging in with Memberstack and Stripe?
Not planned
I have a site where members can create an account without a plan to access some basic, free content, but there’s a paid plan that gives them access to other stuff.
I have some pages that tease some of paid plan content with:
- a button that shows only to logged in free members that uses the relevant add plan attribute to take you straight to stripe
- a signup button that displays only to logged out users, that uses the add plan attribute to take you to the signup page and then on to stripe
But what about people who already have an account but aren’t logged in? Is there any way of doing something similar to the signup link, so they get taken to a login page and then on to stripe? It seems clunky to have them log in and then click again to upgrade.
Any suggestions would be super helpful!

We have a script now 🎉 www.memberstack.com/scripts/checkout-after-login
Hey Charles Lewis 👋 We don't have a feature to do this right now, but I'll bring this up to the team and let you know if there's anything easy we can do.
To confirm, you are wanting to launch a checkout session right after a returning user logs in correct?
1. Click price button
2. Login
3. Launch checkout
Do I have that right?
Any updates on this?
I believe this has been fixed, but I need to test first thing next week.
Okay, confirmed this is not working. I will check with the team and either a) Provide a script that you can add to your site, or b) we will build it directly into the product.
