“Create a member” action error - Plan logics and Make.com Planned

Hi guys! Tyler Bell Duncan Hamra

Im having a problem with plan logics and Make.com:

I have a free plan (Plan A) with a plan logic setted to add a second free plan (Plan B). So, when Plan A is added, Plan B have to be added also.

In Make.com when you use the action “Add a free plan to a Member” the workflow works great. I add Plan A, and automatically plan logics adds Plan B. The problem is when you use “Create member” action. With this action, you create a new member and you can also add a free plan, but when the member is created with Plan A, Plan Logics dont work and Plan B is not being added. As I say, this only happens when you use “Create a member” action.

It is quite common to give a subscription trial (Plan B) when a user buys a one-time product (Plan A), so it would be great if you can fix this bug asap 🙏✨

Thaaaanks and great job!

PS. If you need a Loom, tell me

I also mention you so you can take a look! Josh Lopez Julian Galluzzo 😉

    Hey Lucas 👋

I know this isn’t exactly what you’re asking for, but I have an idea/question. Would you be able to change the way your Plan A and Plan B are configured so that plan logic isn’t required? I.e. maybe add all of the gated content in Plan B to Plan A?

Not in this case, Plan A is a one time payment for training and Plan B is a subscription to complementary content.

To solve it, I was going to first create the user and then assign the plan, but when creating the user it is mandatory to set a plan (maybe it’s something else to check, you don’t always want to assign a plan when creating an account).

Ultimately, I’ll create a fake plan and then use the “Add a plan” action one step later in the scenario in make.

Lucas Suárez we do have the option to add a one-time fee to a subscription. This means you might be able to duplicate B and add a one-time setup fee equal to the price of plan A.

    So you’d have
    Plan A - one-time payment
    Plan B - subscription
Plan AB - subscription with a set-up fee

Oh! Interesting, Is it possible to have this Plan AB that is a monthly subscription of X€/month with the setup fee (one time payment) and also having a trial? I mean, you pay the setup fee, you have 1 month free (for example) and then you start paying the subscription.

This section called Trials maybe solves that right? 😅

What happen if a user “cancels” the subscription? Will they lose the access despite of paying the setup fee? I think that in that case I can set up a plan logic to add a free plan that has the access of Plan A when Plan AB is purchased so if the users cancel the subscription they can continue having access to the product they paid the setup fee.

I’ll need to test this… I should know, but I honestly am not sure off the top of my head 🤔 I’ll put this on my to-do for tomorrow.

And I like you plan logic idea 👍

I completely forgot that I need to do this with free plans, so the setup fee isn’t really an option. But it’s interesting anyway, I’ll keep it in mind for other projects
