Hosted content vs Webflow interactions Answered

I’m trying to shove a button into hosted content that normally triggers a WF interaction (expanding audio player). The rendered HTML ends up exactly the same as before, but the hosted button won’t fire the interaction. Would this be because it’s loading after the rest of the page has loaded, or something?

    Hi Aletta, you’re exactly right.

Webflow interactions only work on elements that were present on the initial page load.

We have a solution that will get Webflow to re-initialize interactions on dynamic content. Just haven’t added that yet as we are doing more testing.

Might take us a week or so to get that in though.

Will you be able to move forward for now without the interaction? cc Duncan Hamra

Yep, I’ll stop poodling around with it and do other stuff in the meantime 🙂 Or continue poodling and see if I can add the interaction on a surrounding element.

ah that’s a great idea! I’d assume that should work as long as the interaction is on a parent element to the element that has the custom content attribute 🤔

Just a bit of unpacking and repacking everything.

Got it working, 💪 But I also needed to move my Wistia embed scripts out of there too, video popup wasn’t working. Might be worth noting in documentation that you can’t chuck all your worldly baggage in there. 🧐
