How to handle login button visibility when users are already logged in?

Should people be able to 'login' when they are already logged in?

I remember the old login button being hidden on ms1.0 if someone was logged-in

i don’t think that is the case anymore.

We decided to leave this up to you in 2.0.

If you wanna hide those login buttons you can pop a data-ms-content='!members' attributes on there.
