[Wishlist] Allow custom subscription intervals beyond 12 months (e.g., 2 years) in Memberstack

[This post was migrated from our old community roadmap]

1) The problem →
My client wants to be able to create a subscription that recurs every 2 years
2) Why is this important →
My client wants longer subscription intervals as they are targeting students who will be studying a course over a number of years
3) What's your plan B →
Make a one-time plan that users can subscribe to and that expires after two years. However, they will need to re-subscribe after 2 years which isn't great as some may drop off - an automatic renewal would be much better
4) Possible solutions we could build for you →
Allow me to create a subscription interval of whatever length I define - weeks, months, years - as is currently in the app - except with durations greater than 12 months supported

In the help page "How to Create a Paid Plan in Memberstack," under the "Adding a Price" section, there is an explanation and an image.

Here, when adding a "New Price," you can set "Add a frequency" under the "Recurring" settings. This means you can freely set it to every month, every three months, every year, etc. https://docs.memberstack.com/hc/en-us/articles/7405693562011-How-to-Create-a-Paid-Plan-in-Memberstack

When I started using MemberStack in May 2024, this setting option should have existed, but currently, it is no longer available, and only plans with automatic monthly renewal can be offered.

As mentioned in this wishlist, you can temporarily resolve it by setting "Expiration" in the "One-time option," but this does not provide a smooth experience for my project either.

I hope for the reinstatement of the option to set the recurring billing cycle period.

Providing only monthly subscription is not flexible enough for various products and services. I hope to see flexible subscription periods implemented in the near future. Maybe stopping at annual (12 months maximum) subscriptions is a good limit.

My clients, based on their election cycle and time in office, budget on a 2 year cycle and want to be able to buy a 2 year plan up front. It's extremely important that I be able to have a 2 year option!

My client would like to be able to offer a 3-year membership. For example, an annual membership is $75, but the 3-year would be something like $200 where you save $25 by paying three years up front. It's something that's offered through the client's parent sporting organization.
