[Wishlist] Setting optional vs required fields in signup modal based on membership type Answered

On the signup modal, how can I make some fields optional and others required. And different memberships have different requirements, i.e., one field is required only for a certain membership, MS should not force other memberships to enter something for that field

It's unlikely we will add this functionality since the desired effect can be achieved by creating a custom signup form.
Once the form is on your site, you can set any fields to required.
