Is it possible to implement paid membership that grants users credits and subtracts them each time user exchange credit for service on the platform? Completed

Hey there! 👋

I want to create a platform and consider Webflow + Memberstack + Airtable as a stack to implement paid membership that issues users a certain amount of credits (based on a subscription plan), that can be used to exchange credit for service on a platform. A very important functionality to mention is the possibility to subtract credits each time the user exchanges credit for a service on the platform. And if there are no credits left, redirect them to the credits purchasing page (or pricing plans page).

For example, ClassPass is using a similar business model.

Is it possible to achieve this with Memberstack?
Maybe you'll have any resources or advice? :D that would be great and thanks a lot in advance! 😉

Happy Tuesday! I just finished up a tutorial on how to do it 🥳

In the tutorial, I walk through the creation of a credit or token system using Make, Webflow, and Memberstack. You'll learn how to set up a system where users can purchase, view, and redeem credits.

    Hey Dimitri 👋

Great question, and yes! It is possible, but I have yet to build a full prototype. I really want to... my plan is to use Make.com and Memberstack to track "credits."

One thing I did discover when building my prototype is that the means of "using" credits is super important to map out so that it's secure and always works. Can you tell me more about the exact process of using credits from a member's perspective?

Hey Duncan, I've got a possible use case for something like this too.

My use of credits would actually be "views" of video content. The customer would purchase let's say 100 views of a video that they could use over a 1-year period of time. We would want to track their usage and if the customer reached their limit then they would be prompted to "renew" or purchase more credits.

    Hey Duncan!

Thank you for your quick reply! Yes, I also was thinking of using Make.

My case is to be able to submit your info in return for service within the platform so 1 credit = 1 service, no edge cases it's always gonna be 1 for 1. So subtracting shouldn't be impossible in my opinion. What do you think?

Thanks a have a great day,
    Dima

Okay, excellent! Yeah, I agree that make should be a solid solution for you. I do wish I already had a prototype working. For now, my "yes" is only in theory, but I don't think you'll run into any blockers 🤔
