[Wishlist] Recurring donations ("pay what you want") Not planned

[This post was migrated from our old community roadmap]

1) The problem → My client wants to use Memberstack to charge for recurring memberships and donations. These donations are recurring and could be for any amount.
2) Why is this important → Pay what you want pricing is the expected pricing model for my industry/product.
3) What's your plan B → Use Memberstack for fixed recurring payments and then use another tool like DonorBox or Gumroad for flexible pricing.
4) Possible solutions we could build for you → A) A way to programmatically create a Stripe plan that's not associated with any permissions.
B) a way to programmatically create a Memberstack plan.
C) A way to fake our stripe billing (A 1 dollar plan with a quantity of 1-9,999 or something)

Bumping this as our business needs a Pay-What-You-Want recurring subscription feature, as well. Would love to see this in MS2.0, Duncan Hamra. It is honestly the only thing keeping us from using Memberstack right now. Our clients pay what they want on a monthly basis.

Thanks for the input, Justin! To clarify, do your clients pick an amount, and pay that amount each month or can they pick a different amount each month?

For context, would love to hear more about the kind of business you're using this in as well.

If you are excited about this feature please leave a 👍 and a comment explaining why this feature is important for your project. We read every comment and prioritize our roadmap with those comments in mind.

This feature is not currently scheduled for development.

    No-code: Accept tips and donations

You can now do it directly in Stripe: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A65SinJlDBo

Hi - I'm working with a client who wants a "pay what you want" subscription model. Is there a way to allow users to enter their own custom amount?

Just make multiple prices for the same plan! It’s not a pure “anything you want” model, but you can make a bunch of prices and allow them to choose.

The tried and true "pay what you want" pricing is on our roadmap, but no ETA

I would be extremely grateful for a true “pay what you want” option. Thanks for considering this.

Agreed! Good news is Stripe was working on this feature recently. Hopefully we can make it available to Memberstack customers soon

Jeff Harmon I believe Stripe allows that, so technically it should be possible.
