[Wishlist] Members can't delete their own accounts Not planned

[This post was migrated from our old community roadmap]

1) I want the users to be able to Delete their account (I already designed the feature on Webflow) through their dashboard
2) I have to do this manually right now which takes time. I currently use MS to:
  • allow users to choose their memberships (4 memberships)
  • view a certain kind of content
  • manage their profile through a dashboard
-> To be 100% GDPR compliant
3) I have to do this manually.
4) For this, I'll simply need a data-ms-member="delete" to add on the button for example. It would cover the need 👍

Agreed. Added to the roadmap and planned for 2023.

This would be super helpfull since GDPR is requiring this and also apple is requiring it in apps and pwa's

Agreed! I'll float this to the top of our roadmap planning for next Q. Thanks for flagging this Yannick Caron

Hey Duncan, any status on this?  This is extremely important for GDPR and CCPA compliance.  Open's up many businesses to liability.

Thank you Chad Aston for checking in. Tyler Bell and I had a conversation about this 2 months ago, and decided to prioritize a few other features first.

This is not a perfect solution (and I am not a GDPR lawyer) but I believe you can be GDPR compliant without this feature IF you provide your members will a means of contacting you - and then manually delete their account in a reasonable timeframe.

All that said, we do 100% plan to build this feature. (As always, we're open to feedback on this. 😁)

I wanted to follow up and see if this feature had been implemented yet?

Thanks for following up. We have not implemented it yet. It's one of those projects that's quite complex and has (surprisingly) very little demand.

It's still on our list, but not immediate plans to implement.
