[Wishlist] Setting up phone number authentication instead of email in Memberstack Not planned
[This post was migrated from our old community roadmap]
I'm looking to create a simple sign up / log in form using just a phone number. Very similar to https://www.nudgetext.com/login?redirectTo=%2Faccount
Ideally - users sign up with phone number & email. Then log in using their number only.
Nudge does this best: https://www.nudgetext.com/login?redirectTo=%2Faccount
Process: Enter your phone number, you get a 6-digit verification code which essentially becomes the password for log in.

Would be useful!
I would allow them to connect their phone number, same way you do it with allowing users to add their Google or Facebook accounts.
their email is javi@slytex.com - from Intercom https://app.intercom.com/a/apps/mhuvdpg8/inbox/inbox/5032929/conversations/129050300105731
this is huge
hey Javi! Can you elaborate on your use-case for this? What alternative options do you have to make this possible for your website/app?
Hi Naitik - replying to your comment:
We are currently exploring the best membership tool to launch our SMS productivity tool: sms.slytex.com

Would love to get your thoughts on the best approach for this,
Thanks
Naitik,
Hello everyone Now is it possible to use "Phone number" instead of "Email" for Signup/Login?
Hey Hamza Nasim, currently its not possible to signup a user just via a phone number. There is a memberscript which enables us to verify phone numbers via OTP and another memberscript which enables 2FA for logins, but it does not replace the signup / login method (where Memberstack requires an email ID via password signup / passwordless / social auth etc.)

I would really like to see this implemented. Some audiences want to remain anonymous and without support for Apple login or SMS based login, providing email feels more revealing for users and often deters them from creating an account.
