[Wishlist] Can't bulk edit members via the dashboard Not planned

1) The problem → I'm basing functionality in my site off of data stored on a member. If I ever need to change a value on my site there's no way to bulk update "replace" that value.
2) Why is this important → It takes forever to manually update members 1-by-1.
3) What will happen if this goes unsolved → I have to account for the old value or break all of the existing members project
4) Possible solutions → I want to filter - select some members - select the field which needs to be updated and make the edit right from the members page.

Some sort of find/replace option would also work.

Tagging might also solve this. We could make it easy to bulk add/remove tags.

We plan to tackle this problem in the future. To help in the short-term, we recently created a server-side script which can bulk-update custom fields.

Bulk update members using their memberstack ID.

    1. The problem → I need to update a custom field for 300+ members

    2. Why is this important → This is a custom field that let's them edit their airtable profile from our website using one button with an attribute on it. If they have the wrong link they can't edit or may have access to someone else's account.

    3. What's your plan B → Using make.com but a google sheets integration doesn't let you bulk update and you still have to go one by one

    4. Possible solutions we could build for you → Allow me to import a csv that only uses the memberstack ID as the primary key (no email field) so I can input the ID and the updated custom field ONLY.

Molly Floyd Thank you 🙏 would you mind adding the person as a voter?

After that, I'll let them know we're planning on doing this in the future, but no ETA. Will be sometime after migrating to 2.0.

I did, but they asked to be removed.
I will send you their email in Slack!

Bulk move all of my members from one free membership to another free membership

    1. The problem → I need to move all of my members (3,000+) from one free plan to another free plan and doing it manually will take some time.

    2. Why is this important → We recently did a rebranding and I need to programmatically move all of our members under one free plan to another free plan, it's going to take up my time to do this manually one by one.

    3. What's your plan B → One by one for now.

    4. Possible solutions we could build for you → Build an automation that allows us to bulk move members.

Cassidy Garbe thank you for leaving such great feedback 🙏

Are you a developer, or do you have a developer who could help you with this? We recently created a server-side script which can bulk-update custom fields.
