[Wishlist] Enable team billing (seats, licenses, users, etc.) Planned
[This post was migrated from our old community roadmap]
1) The problem → I want a company/administrator to be able to purchase a fixed or custom number of seats for their team.
2) Why is this important → It massively increases my LTV, retention, and sales volume.
3) What will happen if this goes unsolved → I have to manage these funky workarounds with coupons and free accounts. However, those are really imperfect since the sub-accounts don't lose access when the admin stops paying. I'll likely need to use another tool or build something custom.
4) Possible solutions → Create a team management UI for admin accounts. Admin should be able to select a plan with a dynamic or pre-set number of seats, and then invite/add members via this UI. Those sub-accounts should inherit permissions from the admin account's status.

Duncan from Memberstack Okay, that is very useful to know. Do you have any kind of estimated timeline for version 1 release? E.g. next 3 months or 12 months, etc.?
If the member cap was 150 and under, I would still be able to move several thousand users over, for all groups under 150. And when you get to MVP2, could explore the larger groups.
Hope everybody is doing great! We are getting close to finalizing our initial plans for the team account feature
Right now, we are trying to determine what pricing models to support first. Turns out, there are quite a few different ways to model team accounts / per seat pricing.
It would be incredibly helpful to us if everyone could send us a picture of their ideal pricing table.
As an example, I'm going to share Ben Tossell's pricing table. From it we can see that he's offering two plans which are both one-time and his team plan is enabling up to 10 seats. This tells us we need to make sure team accounts work for onetime plans, etc.
If anyone else can share their pricing table it would be super helpful Or at the very least, describe how you want your pricing to work.
Thanks!
Hi Duncan from Memberstack here's my current pricing table where I'm offering a team option but handling it in the backend, essentially manually. It's not my ideal but I'm hoping that the new teams option would let me go from a manual fulfillment to an automated situation. Hope this helps!
Tier 1: 1-30 users
Tier 2: 31-75 users
Tier 3: 76-150 users
Tier 4: 151+ users
Individual plan: individuals can also separately sign up for the same content, just on a different solo plan
Tiers 1-4 are seat based, annually recurring. The one admin can add/remove people throughout the year, renew/change subscription, etc. The participants who have been signed up cannot edit their membership (since it's controlled by the admin).
How are you tracking with this functionality? It's key for what we need as we'll only be offering corporate/team memberships, not individuals.
Making progress! The front-end is currently in development. We're still a few weeks out from launching.
I love this feature.
Good for retention and revenues.
The sooner this feature gets implemented the better. Memberstack has a good reputation and this feature may be a deciding factor for some.
The pricing option that would universally work best is to 1. choose number of seats/team members, 2. set price per seat/team member. Outseta has it figured out ;)
and then 3. (Optional) set tiers with discounts. Up to 10 members full price. 10-25 members 10% lower price. 25-50 members 20% lower. Etc.
Duncan from Memberstack how close are you guys to releasing team pricing?
Agreed Luka! I am waiting on this too.
What is the latest status with this?
