How to merge legacy email users with Google Sign-In when they share the same Gmail address? Answered
Hello,
I tried the google signup and login, with works great for the new users. But it seems like the legacy users that have a gmail (= that signed up with email + password) cannot use the google login ?
Is there a way to link a memberstack account to the google account of the user ?
Thanks,
William

Hey William de Broucker 👋 (First off, I'm terribly sorry that your post got caught in a spam filter 😞).
Members who signup with their Gmail address and password will need to 1) Login with their email and password 2) Navigate to your site's profile page 3) Click on the profile Google auth button to update their account. This is required so we know that the member is actively logged into both accounts. Could leave to security issues if we connected the accounts automatically.
Hey ! Anyone had this pb with google auth ? They seem to find that memberstack is unsecure ? wtf
I'm building it too. They ask for a lot of restrictions from the app; Have you received an email?
Restrictions from which app? It was a customer who sent me this. It comes from one of his customers 🙂
Did you just install it or not?
From the cloud console you have to check the app
We've had it for 2 weeks but we've been told the news now
Hello, could you provide a more context on how your client's app is being used? According to the presented error, happens when the a browser window is being used inside a native app.403 disallowed_useragent
Oh so it's probably when they try to create an account with instagram navigation app i think. Most of users come from there
A solution to address this would be to create a dedicated page to funnel all your Instagram traffic. On this page, implement custom code to redirect users to your main site while ensuring they are prompted to open it in their default browser.
Thank you so much, it's a reliabe solution that we will do asap !
